Batawa has always been a community with a strong focus on nature and the environment. The Batawa Lions Natural Playground was designed to complement the natural outdoor beauty of Batawa. Future fundraising endeavours will focus on accessibility.

Every year the Batawa Lions Club helps to build and maintain free outdoor skating rinks. These rinks are also used for the CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic
